Windy City Merfolk Pod is an Illinois-based group of both professional and non-professional mermaids who just love to swim and spend time together! We are an inclusive group and accept members regardless of race, religion, size, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, etc. We respect science and all Covid-19 protocols and restrictions because we care about each other and those around us. We also work together to raise funds for non-profit organizations and volunteer together whenever we can! If this sounds like a group for you, come check us out!
What we've done so far...
Windy City Merfolk Pod was started in the summer of 2021, so we're a pretty small and young group. We have swum at a few different pools in the Chicagoland area and Indiana, as well as Lake Michigan! This fall we adopted a manatee, Ariel, through the organization Save the Manatee Club! We also hosted our first pod photoshoot at Mermaid Emily's home. We have more swims planned and are working on a date to go volunteer with Save My Starving Children. Craft, movie, and dinner nights are in the future as well!
